The uses for fluorite date back three hundred years. Egyptians once carved statues into the stones of their Gods, and the Romans have been carving into the stones for just as long. Romans also believed that by drinking from a Fluorite container would prevent the person from getting drunk. It was a high held belief in Rome that the stones were precious and numerous were found in the temple of Jupiter. In the eighteenth century the stone was made into a powdered form and used to treat kidney infection. Fluorite is also said to absorb harmful vibrations.
