    Cut Apple Green Fluorite 

    This example is from the Wheal Jane mine in Cornwall, UK.


    Weighs 2 grams 

    Measures 15mm x 10mm
     

    The mine workings at Wheal Jane date back to the early 1700’s and throughout its life produced both copper and tin.  This old mine, close to the city of Truro in Cornwall, made it back into the news when it reopened in 1969 under Consolidated Gold Fields Ltd. and operated until 1991 since when it quickly flooded.  Many fine mineral specimens were produced during the latter period and the Fluorite discovered in Level 15 is a readily recognisable Wheal Jane classic.  Despite its incredible mineral wealth, the Cornish mines are very lacking in Fluorite and even rarer, well crystallised Fluorite.
