Product Description

Hertfordshire Puddingstone

Weighs 35.7 grams
Measures approximately 40mm x 20mm x 15mm

Puddingstone is a name given to any sedimentary rock known as a “conglomerate”. A conglomerate is composed of water-worn pebbles or river gravel that have been cemented together by a finer mineral deposit. This finer mineral deposit fills in the spaces between the pebbles and forms a solid rock and becomes very colourful.
This example has been tumbled and polished to give it a slick and shiny surface.
Puddingstone derives its name from the manner in which the embedded flints resemble the plums in a plum pudding.
This crystal is part of Judy Hall’s crystal collection and is being sold on behalf of her daughter, Jeni. It will come with a card confirming that it was part of Judy’s own collection. In memory of Judy,  a percentage of the sale price will be donated to MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières), an international humanitarian organisation that provides life-saving medical care in over 70 countries.
