Japan Law Twin

This striking  example is a natural Japan Law Twin in Citrine, a rare and highly sought-after formation within the Quartz family.

The Japan Law is one of the few recognised twinning laws in Quartz where both crystals are clearly visible as separate individuals. In this formation, two crystals grow together with their c-axes meeting at a distinct angle, creating the characteristic “V” shape. In some examples, this can appear more open and angular, while others take on a slightly sharper or more symmetrical form, sometimes reminiscent of a butterfly or even a small heart.

Often, Japan Law Twins display a slightly flattened or “platy” appearance. This occurs because the crystal tends to grow more rapidly in the space between the two arms, giving the formation its unique geometry and balance.

Also known as Weiss Law Twin or La Gardette Law Twin, this type of twinning is considered extremely rare, particularly in well-defined and aesthetically pleasing examples such as this.

This piece is formed in Citrine, bringing warmth and brightness to the already fascinating structure. As with all Quartz, it carries a clarity of energy, but the twin formation introduces an added sense of balance and alignment. It is often associated with harmony between dual aspects — whether that is thought and action, inner and outer awareness, or different paths coming together as one.

Working with a Japan Law Twin can feel like holding a point of convergence — a place where perspectives meet and integrate, allowing for clearer direction and a deeper sense of purpose.

Each piece is individually photographed, and this is the exact crystal you will receive.
