    Labradorite Moon Gazing Hare

    Measures approximately 80mm x 40mm x 20mm

     

    The hare is considered sacred amongst many ancient traditions, representing fertility and rebirth, associated with the moon, and the festivals of Spring. The Hare was sacred to the moon goddess Andraste, the Celtic goddess Cerridwen and the Earth Mother. Considered to be a royal animal, the warrior queen Boudicca released a Hare as a good omen before each battle with the Romans. 
    The myth of the moon gazing hare reflects ancient beliefs.  Pagans believed that seeing a moon gazing hare would bring growth, re-birth, abundance, new-beginnings and good fortune.  The hare is known to be sacred to the goddess Eostre and eventually became known as the Easter bunny.  At Easter we eat Hot-Cross-Buns, the cross on the bun is said to represent the four quarters of the moon, these buns were originally pagan offerings and were often hung from rafters to scare off evil that lurked in houses.
    Labradorite is a cool grey colour, shot through with flashes of iridescent green, gold and blue.

    A stone that is useful in times of transformation, and a excellent companion through the change, imparting strength and perseverance.

    Labradorite is said to protect and renew. Named Old Warrior's Stone, it is believed to refresh the energy of weary souls, keeping the aura clear and protected.
