Schalenblende is a mixture of Sphalerite and Wurtzite and Galena (a lead bearing ore). 

The name comes from the German meaning, 'shell ore'. The beautiful banding shows an assortment of colours which range from creams, browns and silver. 

Schalenblende is grounding, centering and strengthening. It is said to enhance mental concentration, psychic attunement, spiritual consciousness and self-esteem. 

It can be used to insulate oneself from negative energies in the environment and to accelerate inner growth as well as worldly success. Schalenblende assists with the regeneration of the body and with wound healing. It encourages the development of the brain. It also helps to support the immune system. 

Schalenblende also enhances our sense of smell and taste, stimulates the retina, and can help with prostate trouble and problems with the testicles and ovaries. Schalenblende can also combat exhaustion and fatigue. 

Concentration, abstract thinking, spontaneity and intuition, are all encouraged by the carrying of Schalenblende. It fosters the ability to communicate and may be considered as a stone of peace due to its ability to establish communication between those who would not normally talk to each other.

Schalenblende combats lack of courage and worrying fears. It ends fruitless brooding and inner unrest and helps us to sleep whenever our thoughts are keeping us awake.
